一年ほど前、ネタ探しで苦労しましたが・・・身近なところに、ありました。 息子が子供の頃 大切にしていた事典、今では私のネタ探し本。＾＾ I found an idea at around me when I’ve looked it for…a year ago. It was in the nature dictionary that my son treasured in his childhood.

たった６～７cm角の写真を見て、ガビ～ン！！と 衝撃を受けました。 人の丈の倍以上はあるかと思われる岩の壁、実はアンモナイトの化石がびっしり。実物のレリーフ！ I was shocked to see the small photo! The ammonite wall that the height is double human or more!
また、作家トレイシー・シュバリエの新作がイギリスの Lyme Regisというところを舞台に女性二人の化石発掘者の小説があるそうで まだ、日本語訳は出ていませんが これも興味が惹かれます＾＾ I also knew author Tracy Chevalier wrote a book about two women fossil hunters in Lyme Regis.
そんなことから、年明け早々 “ナンチャッテ化石”など作ってきたわけです＾＾ I already made my fossil by those hints!
出来たら 現地に行って どちらも 実物を見てみたい！ですが・・・ If I could go to see those places I would think what a great…!
そんな気持ちだけをかたくなに抱いて、表現し、編んでみました↓ ＾＾ｖ I knitted “a stratum” with such my mind.
I have two tricks I use to make free form. わたしがフリーフォームを作る時に使う二つの方法があります。 First, I gather all my yarns, まず、自分の毛糸を全部集めます。 and coordinate the colors. そして、カラーコーディネートをします。
Once I am pleased with the colors together, そのいろいろな色と一緒にいることが嬉しいときは、 ANYthing I make will look great! 作るものが、すごく良いものに見えます！
If I find myself going around and around in a circle or traditional crochet square I chain 6. くさり目６からのぐるぐる丸いモチーフや伝統的な四角の中に自分を見つけることもあります。 Then I work on those stitches as well as the original part. それから 自分のオリジナルなパーツ（部分モチーフ）と つないだり編んだりします。 Whenever I feel like I might be getting too rigid, あまり、融通がきかないと思うときは、 I chain 6 again.もう一度くさり目６． And by chain 6 I mean "3" or "12" or "8" or whatever strikes your fancy. そのくさり目６は ３にしたり、１２や、８にすることによって何か貴方の思いつきに当たるはず。 In my classes we often play a game. わたしのクラス（編み物の）では、よく ゲームをして遊びます。 Roll the dice and draw a card (that has stitch names on it) and make that many of those stitches. （編み方を書いた）サイコロをころがしたり、カードを引いたりして たくさん その編み方で作ります。 It often loosens the class up enough to realize that whatever they add will be just fine! しばしば、クラスは解放的になりますが、何を加えれば良いのか そういう時に気がつくのです。 I also find it useful to have my students throw their scrumble up in the air, また、生徒たちに自分で作ったスクランブル（手のひらサイズの自由な編み物）を空中に投げさせたりすることも効果的だとわかっています。 and where they catch it is where the next stitch (and color) goes. キャッチする場所で次にどんな編み目があって、どんな色があったらよいかわかるからです。 The whole goal is to have FUN! Whoever has these motifs in the drawer and the storage even they are not used right now… I remember that I practiced “ daisy motif” over and over again…
ラフスケッチを描いたように セーターも作ってみたかったけれど・・・ 襟部分で一ヶ月近くも費やしてしまうことになり、 I’d like to make a sweater like the scrabbling on the last though… I’ve spent doing a part of collar about a month!
セーターは、遠いなあ・・・。 So the sweater is distant…
と言うことで、化石シリーズの 多面体的襟巻 となりました。 I finished A POLYHEDRAL COLLAR is “a knitting fossil” series.
長いマフラーを2，3回ぐるぐる巻きにするのだったら、これでも いいか＾＾ ＿暖ったか、だし！
I think it is the same as wrapping a long scarf! Warm too! ^^
