糸始末な日々 Thread&Yarn Handing Days

以前紹介しました　“Ｔシャツ改造”のヤーン・マガジン社から、
今度は、“ジーンズのリフォーム”の依頼がありました。
ジーンズのパンツでも、ジャケットでも構わないと・・・

I made T-shirt reconstruction from Yarn Magazine offered the other day,
and then who requested me would do with jean (denim) pants or jean (denim)-jacket next.

そのとき送った、イメージのラフ・スケッチ（左上）です。
I sent rough sketches of my imagination then, is the upper left.

編集者はラッフル（波のようなフリル）が気に入ったと言うので、それに決定しました。
だから、デザインは、二人三脚です。

The editor said she loved ruffles one! We decided it to makeover jean-jacket,
so that was designed in tandem with her not only by myself.


本の発売時期がオーストラリアでは、冬になるので、はじめは毛糸で考えましたが
しかし、ラッフルになりません・・・
自分で、決めていたら、編みやすいので、こちらの襟だったでしょうね。＾＾

The time of its issue will be in winter Australia,
first I thought that I should make with wool,
but I couldn’t form ruffles like as my imagination!
However wool is easy to knit!


なので、高級感があって、張りのあるセリシン・シルクにしました・・・！
編みにくい・・・
うっかり、針から目が外れるとスルスルとどこまでも滑り落ちていく・・・；；

So, I used ‘processed sericin silk’ which looks like lofty and has a tension…!
It was difficult to knit that stitches came out from needle and slid down.


まず、切ります！
First, cut!


ほつれないように、ボタンホール・スティッチ（ブランケット・スティッチ）で!

And, do work buttonhole stitching (blanket stitching) around its raw edges.


ぐるりと編んだ襟と見ごろの寸法を合わせて、できあがり。
Finished! When knitted the collar like a tube, short-row sew on bodice!


じゃじゃ～ん！！最新号ヤーン・マガジンの表紙になりました！
Ta-da!! It appeared on the current issue YarnMagazine whose cover!


中のページではモデルさんがゴージャスに着こなしています！！
Besides, the model has worn gorgeously it in that page!!

今、リソース（再資源）、リデュース（再利用）、リサイクル（再生産）は
地球規模で考えなくてはならない重要なポイントです。
むかしから、家庭での編み物こそ、何度も再利用可能な資源でした・・・
母親のセーターをほどいて子供のセーターや毛糸のパンツに・・・！
それを思うと、今の自分は反省するばかりです・・・。
なにせ、ほどけませ～ん！

Now, we must take a global view about resource,
reduce and recycle at every thing.
Certainly, knitting and crocheting might have ever done so for long time.
Mother's sweater would have been renewable resource to
child's wear or pants!
(So, I think about myself almost my work could not unravel.)
